Legacy
Due to the overall quality of the hack (or lack thereof to some people), Marc's Precious was considered too luck-based to be winnable on a consistent basis and was disqualified from winning the contest. However, its impact on the community can still be seen to this day.
In Tactical Nonsense, a Ragefest Five submission, there's a secret in the second chapter where, after following the directions to a "great treasure," one of the characters finds Marc's Precious half buried in the dirt with a note attached proclaiming that its previous owner "never wants to see this piece of shit ever again" and how it'll "never be worthy of all the blood and tears they spent." The rest of the note is described to devolve into vulgar language, commenting on long maps and unsatisfying endings. Marc's Precious is obtained afterwards as an item, with no icon.
In Ragefest Five currently, there is another submission by Ash3wl and General Ciraxis named Marc's (MORE) Precious, which as yet to be shown to the public.
Marc and EvilEggoWaffle, being too frustrated with the unanswered question of what exactly Marc's Precious is, decided to answer it in their own way, with a hack of FE8 called Marc's Precious - Revenge.
